D20 Grow Co. LLC's Rent-A-GM service was created to help provide our communities with skilled, experienced, and personable Game Masters, all of whom are capable of crafting engaging and immersive TTRPG stories tailored specifically to your party.
This service is great for:
- New players interested in TTRPGs and looking for a patient GM to guide them.
- Experienced players who’d like to test out a new system.
- Private events like birthday parties, work-related team bonding sessions, graduations, etc.
- Public events like renaissance festivals, game-cons, larping, community gatherings, etc.
- Friend groups ready to pool their funds for an ongoing campaign run by a professional.

OUR PRICING PLANS
Renters have the option to either pay in full up front or split their payment in two, in which case, a pre-established down-payment will be charged the day you finalize your rental and the remaining balance will be due 3 days prior to the event.
* Please be aware that the prices provided below are initial estimates based on session length and GM quantity. Tax and other potential fees are not included. A finalized price will be provided after submitting an inquiry and speaking to a D20 Grow Co. LLC representative.

How Does It Work?
If you’re interested in renting one or more of our GMs, please fill out the appropriate rental form linked above to the best of your abilities.
Once this form is submitted, a D20 Grow Co. LLC representative will reach out via your preferred form of contact to discuss the terms of your rental in more detail. After these details are finalized, you’ll be able to communicate with our GM(s) in a private discord chat channel. Here, you’ll prep for the event and they can help answer any questions you may have about the TTRPG session specifically. For all other questions relating to your rental, please contact a D20 Grow Co. LLC representative using the pre-established form of contact or by submitting a contact form here.
All rented GMs will arrive at the designated event venue on time for the TTRPG session. Please be ready to play upon their arrival. After they’ve set up the environment, adventure begins!
Who can participate in the campaign?
Anyone! We strive for inclusivity and this is reflected in our campaigns. Individuals of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate. Pronouns, personal boundaries, and potentially triggering content will be discussed with the GM prior to the event.
Participation of Minors (under the age of 18)
We are more than happy to run games with minors. However, they must be accompanied by a legal adult at all times while the campaign is in session. This allows the GM to focus on storytelling and provides an outside source of mediation if necessary. Graphic content will not be included in campaigns with participating minors without the consent of all party members, including the GM. Our GMs have the final say in what story they are comfortable telling.
Do We Need to Provide Character Sheets and Props?
Nope! We bring the adventure to you! Our arsenal of GMs each have their own unique storytelling props and environments they will provide for the session to create the most immersive experience possible.
We also provide a selection of pre-made character sheets you can choose from for your adventure. If you already have a character sheet you’d like to use or you’re interested in making a new character for the upcoming session, you are free to do so. Our GMs will answer any questions you may have about this process.
While players may bring their own custom character sheet, it must receive the Game Master’s approval before use in the session. We recommend submitting the character to your GM at least 24 hours before the session so you have time to make any necessary changes.
Character sheets can be rejected for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to:
- Character level/ overpowered abilities
- Overly advantageous inventory items
- Use of a race, class, background, or motivation that is incompatible with the one-shot premise or edition
- Presence of inappropriate content
These custom character sheet rules ensure the sessions are conducted as fairly and respectfully as possible while being conscious of time.

Dungeons & Dragons might be the most popular TTRPG our GMs run, but it is by no means the only system they’re versed in. Other TTRPGs we offer include, but are not limited to:

Why Aren't the Prices Listed Above Final?
We understand it can be frustrating to budget for a GM based on our initial prices and then see that number increase after consulting with our team. This may happen for a variety of reason including:
- Tax
- Travel: our GMs are compensated for traveling to venues a set distance outside of Rochester.
- Add-ons: we offer a variety of add-ons to enhance the experience per your request.
- Discounts: in some cases you might actually see your final price decrease if your session meets our discount criteria. Feel free to ask our representative what qualifies during your consultation.
