How it Works
Interested in an upcoming D20 Grow Co. LLC event but unsure what to expect? Let us walk you through it!
Here, we'll answer our most frequently asked questions concerning what happens at these events, how they are run, how to sign up, and more.
What Is Our Goal?
Our flagship events offer local TTRPG one-shot sessions that bring together like-minded individuals for an evening of storytelling, strategy, and fun.
These thoughtfully crafted sessions strive to be inclusive and respectful spaces for all. To achieve this, players have the option to join one of several tables run by an experienced Game Master. Each table features a unique one-shot adventure with its own rules, environment, challenges, and more.
Whether you’re a veteran player or rolling your first dice, you’ll find a game that suits your experience level and interests.
How Do I Sign Up?
The first step in signing up for a D20 Grow Co. LLC event is to see if there is an upcoming session available. You can find our event postings here.
Once you’ve found a session, determine which Game Master’s table you’d like to join. While you can base this decision solely on the one-shot descriptions provided, we strongly encourage you to learn about each Game Master‘s preferred TTRPG version/edition, as well as their personal storytelling and creation style. This will better ensure you sign up for an experience that best suits you.
To secure a seat at your chosen Game Master’s table, follow the event posting’s link provided in the one-shot descriptions for the Game Master whose game you’d like to join. Alternatively, you can find their tickets listed in our D20 Grow Co. LLC shop.
Add the ticket(s) to your cart and follow the payment prompts. A confirmation email and our private Discord link will be sent upon purchase completion. If you are purchasing tickets for more than one person, please provide your companion’s name(s) for sign-in purposes.
What Should I Expect on Event Day?
When you arrive at the event venue, find your way to D20 Grow Co. LLC’s kiosk/sign-in table and provide your name. You’ll then be directed to your Game Master’s table where you’ll meet your fellow one-shot group members.
The one-shot will begin with players selecting their preferred character sheet; this can either be one of the pre-made character sheets we offer, or you may submit your custom character sheet to your table’s Game Master for approval. If you are new to tabletop gaming, please let your Game Master know and they will help guide you through this process. After everyone has chosen their character, you’ll embark on your adventure!
Several designated breaks will be scattered throughout the one-shot to allow participants time to absorb what’s happened so far, purchase food and beverages from the venue’s restaurant, or stop by D20 Grow Co. LLC’s kiosk to purchase unique merchandise.
The one-shot will conclude after the event’s designated timeframe has passed, but participants are free to hang around and explore the venue or make last minute purchases at the kiosk. In the days following the event, we invite all participants to provide their feedback using our survey. The suggestions, praise, and critiques we receive through this form are crucial to us providing the best experience possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can beginners with no D&D/TTRPG experience play?
Absolutely! We strive to make our sessions as inclusive as possible regarding player level.
In every session, at least one of our Game Masters has created a one-shot dedicated to beginners. This means that the character sheets and one-shot premise are designed to be comprehensible but not overwhelming, and players have ample time to ask their Game Master questions along the way.
Our Game Masters are passionate about bringing people into the world of tabletop gaming and are more than willing to guide you through the process so you might join more advanced games in the future.
How long are the events?
Our events last six hours unless specified otherwise. This includes one-shot playing time and several designated breaks. Participants are free to hang out and explore the venue before and after the event.
How many seats are available per table?
A maximum of six seats are available per table. This helps ensure the one-shot is balanced regarding how much time each player is given to participate.
How do I sign in at the event?
When you arrive at the event venue, find the D20 Grow Co. LLC merchandise kiosk. There, a D20 Grow Co. LLC member will ask for your name and direct you to your Game Master’s table.
Can I bring my own custom character sheet from home?
Players may bring their own custom character sheet but it must receive the Game Master’s approval before use in the event. Character sheets can be submitted for approval at the event before the one-shot has started or they can be submitted in advance using our private Discord chat. The link will be provided via email upon purchase of a D20 Grow Co. LLC event ticket.
Character sheets can be rejected for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to:
- Character level/ overpowered abilities
- Overly advantageous inventory items
- Use of a race, class, background, or motivation that is incompatible with the one-shot premise or edition
- Presence of inappropriate content
These custom character sheet rules ensure the one-shots are conducted as fairly and respectfully as possible while being conscious of time.
As stated in our “Campaign and Venue Rules”, the Game Master has the final say in all disputes. If your custom character sheet is rejected, please do not waste the one-shot’s limited time arguing with the Game Master’s decision. Be courteous of everyone’s experience and choose a pre-made character sheet.
Do I need to bring my own dice and figurines?
No. While we encourage participants to bring their own tabletop dice, figurines, dice trays or towers, and other accessories, they are not required. We will provide all the basic items necessary for the one-shot.
Will there be food at the event?
Most of our events are hosted at venues that offer food and drinks to some degree that participants can purchase before, after, or during the one-shot session. However, this is not always guaranteed. If food and drinks are available during the event, we will specify as such in our event posting.
Will there be D20 Grow Co. LLC merchandise to purchase at the event?
Yes! We always have a kiosk with a collection of our best D20 Grow Co. LLC merchandise available for purchase at our events. Some fan-favorite items include our customized sticker packs, the Bath Bomb of Elven Ease, and the D20 Grow Co. LLC dice tray. Remember that you can also purchase Hidden Loot and unique D20 Grow Co.
