The Pied Piper of Phandalin: You and your party have been called to the small hamlet of Phandalin. They have had issues with a recent rat infestation. However, when your group arrives, the problem has already been dealt with? Apparently, a strange man in multicolored clothes came along and offered his services as a rat catcher. The colorful man picked up his flute, played a strange song, and sent all of the rats from their holes and off a nearby cliff.

Harbin Wester, the Townmaster, had offered the man 100 Gold Pieces, thinking he would not succeed. After he did, Harbin tried to renege on their deal, offering the man only 5 Gold Pieces. The multicolored man, now slighted, promised to return soon to seek his revenge before disappearing in a puff of pink smoke. Harbin now fears he’s angered a powerful man. He has offered your party the gold promised to the strange man should you all succeed in protecting him.
